Ruth Meixner Bird

Ruth Meixner Bird is an artist and educator living and working in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. She has taught at the Corcoran School of Art and Design, American University and Montgomery College. She holds graduate degrees from the University of Wisconsin and American University in painting and art criticism. She has also studied at the University of Osaka in Japan as an exchange student from the California College of Art and Design and spent a year studying at Uppsala University in Sweden. Her award-winning abstract paintings are in the collections of various American embassies as part of the government’s Art in the Embassies Program and in many private and corporate collections. She is a member of the Arts Club of Washington.


Alison Hall

Alison Hall divides her time among Brooklyn, rural Virginia and Todi, Italy. She received her MFA in painting from American University in 2004. In 2011 she received a Virginia Museum of Fine Arts fellowship in drawing, as well as the Bethesda Painting Award. Exhibitions include shows in New York City, Washington, D.C., Italy and the Netherlands. This year her work was presented in three solo exhibitions at Roanoke’s Taubman Museum of Art, the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and the William King Museum, in Abingdon, Virginia.  She is represented by the Joan Hisaoka Art Advisory in Washington. In May 2014, her work will be featured in the exhibition Repetitive Motion at Steven Harvey Fine Art Projects in New York City.

Kristin Herzog
Kristin Herzog grew up on the shore south of Boston and is now based in the Washington, D.C., area. At Sweet Briar College she studied drawing and painting with Loren Oliver, and during her junior year took classes with Bauhaus artist Kurt Kranz in Hamburg. After earning an MFA from George Washington University, she completed additional graduate training at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. She later studied with Maryland artists Susan Herron and William “Skip” Lawrence, Washington, D.C., artist Robert Vander Zee, and Virginia artist Steven H. Fleming. Ms. Herzog exhibits throughout the United States, and her work has been juried into more than 68 regional, national and international shows in 19 states. She currently works in opaque watercolor and acrylic mediums.

Painter Lorna Aldrich is the featured artist in this cooperative gallery features works by Arts Club members in a variety of media.
